Our Approach:
The Lens-Based Model of Healing & Transformation
At Head Trash, we approach healing and personal growth differently.
While traditional therapy often focuses on the individual in isolation, we recognise that people show up with complex, layered lives — and the inner work they need is often deeply shaped by the roles they hold in the world.
That’s why we use a lens-based model to shape our programmes of healing and transformation.
What is the Lens-Based Model?
Our lens-based model helps us tailor healing support to the real-life contexts and emotional demands people are navigating — whether they’re a solo or small business owner, an anxious stay-at-home parent, a team leader, or a corporate CEO.
Each lens adds a layer of emotional complexity, responsibility, and energetic dynamic that must be accounted for in how we work together.
This approach enables us to ensure that we provide you with something that is created with you in mind.

The 5 Lenses We Work With

1. The Human Lens
This is the foundation of all our work. It includes personal issues like anxiety, stress, trauma, low self-worth, or childhood wounding.
Everyone we work with, no matter their context, has this lens in play.
If you’re struggling with emotional patterns that won’t shift — regardless of your role — this is where we begin.
There may be additional lenses that require a specialist approach, for example, reproductive anxiety disorder (RAD), OCD or ADHD etc.

2. The Workplace Lens
When emotional challenges begin to surface in your work — affecting your ability to concentrate, perform, or engage with colleagues — the Workplace Lens comes into play.
Think: burnout, imposter syndrome, overwhelm, boundary issues, or workplace conflict.
This lens includes employees and self-employed professionals navigating workplace pressure or career identity.

3. The Leadership Lens
Leadership adds a new level of energetic responsibility. The healing work now intersects with how you hold power, set standards, and communicate boundaries.
This is a pivotal lens, as leadership healing often unlocks transformation far beyond the individual — it cascades into team culture and business results.

4. The Founder Lens
When the business is your creation, you are the business.
This lens is emotionally rich and often intense. Your personal identity, values, and energy are deeply woven into everything — from your brand and your mission, to your team and client experience.
That makes any challenge feel personal: rejection, visibility, failure, burnout… it all hits differently when it’s your baby.
Healing through this lens helps you untangle yourself from your business emotionally — while still staying deeply connected to its purpose. It’s about building emotional resilience, re-establishing boundaries, and giving your nervous system the support it needs to lead with clarity and courage.

5. The CEO Lens
This is leadership at its most exposed.
The CEO lens brings visibility, responsibility, pressure, and performance into sharp focus. You’re not just holding the vision — you’re managing the team, the board, the expectations, and the outcomes.
Whether you’re a hired CEO or a founder-CEO, the emotional load here is immense. There’s no one above you, and yet, the emotional fallout from decisions and dynamics still lands in your lap.
Healing at the CEO level supports clear decision-making, energetic alignment, leadership confidence, and personal sustainability. It’s about ensuring you are strong and clear enough to lead your business or organisation — without burning out or losing yourself.
Why This Model Matters
Each lens demands different tools, experience, and energetic support.
A practitioner who can support a client with childhood trauma or an anxiety disorder may not have the skillset to guide a founder through emotional crises tied to visibility, public failure, or navigating complex team dynamics.
That’s why our pricing, practitioner matching, and programme design are based on the lens stack involved in your situation.

It’s not just about how many sessions you get.
It’s about:
- The depth of emotional complexity
- The energetic load being held
- The impact of your healing on others
- The behind the scenes support
- The level of specialist experience required
This is why, for example, a 3-month programme for a CEO is priced differently from a 3-month personal healing journey for someone dealing with anxiety.
The lenses — and the stakes — are different.
What This Means For You
When you work with us, we’ll help you clarify:
- What lenses are in play in your situation
- What kind of support structure will serve you best (self-led, practitioner-led, private messaging mentorship, etc.)
- Which practitioner or programme is the best match for your needs
This ensures you’re not over- or under-supported — and that the price you’re quoted reflects the true scope of your transformation work.
