Head Trash Clearance

The clearing method that recalibrates your nervous system at the source.

A self-led healing modality that releases emotional charge, mental conflicts, unhelpful patterns, and the wounds that drive them — fast, gentle, and measurably effective.

Whether you're working with everyday anxieties, deeply rooted fears, or self-sabotage that's been running for decades, Head Trash Clearance gets to the charge underneath — and clears it.

What it is

Head Trash Clearance is the method that runs the Clearance Club.

Head Trash Clearance — HTC for short — is the recalibration layer of the Head Trash method. The first move. The one most people start with.

It works directly with what we call the charge: the emotional reactivity that builds up around the patterns you've been carrying. Anxiety that spikes without reason. Triggers that escalate fast. The freeze that hits when you need to ask for what you want. The over-reaction that arrives before you've thought about it.

That charge is real. It's measurable. And it's clearable.

HTC pulls the charge out of the pattern. Not by managing it. Not by reframing it. By targeting it directly — using a structured combination of cognitive, energetic, and somatic techniques designed to release the emotional load at its source.

When the charge is gone, the pattern softens. Then it loses its grip. Then it stops running.

This isn't reframing. It isn't positive thinking. It isn't talking yourself round. It's clearing.

The signature metaphor

Imagine an arrow's stuck in your shoulder.

Therapy helps you understand where the arrow came from. Mindfulness helps you cope with it being there. Head Trash Clearance pulls the arrow out.

Therapy
Shoulder with arrow stuck in it; a magnifying glass examines the entry point
Helps you understand where the arrow came from.
Mindfulness
Shoulder with arrow stuck in it; crossed plasters cover the wound
Helps you cope with it being there.
Head Trash Clearance
Shoulder with the arrow removed and held to the side; the wound is stitched and healing
Pulls the arrow out.

Once it's out, the adaptations you've built around it — the sideways walking, the flinching, the careful hugs — start to fall away on their own. Because they're no longer necessary.

That's what clearing does. It removes what's driving the behaviour, rather than teaching you to live with it.

The thing that's been running you isn't your personality. It's an arrow you've been carrying. And it's clearable.

The cave parable

Picture your psyche as a vast underground cave.

Echoey. A bit damp. The sort of place where you might trip over a stalagmite or startle something with wings. You can't fix what you can't see — and you can't see what isn't lit.

Therapy turns up to that cave with a candle. A naked flame on two fingers. It examines one rock at a time, in detail, with great care. The work is real, but the cave is enormous.

Mindfulness sets up just outside the entrance. Notice your breath. Feel the cool stone under your foot. Calming, lovely, important. But not actually going in.

Shadow work brings a flaming torch. More to see, more drama, more of the cave revealed. Still — flickering, partial, shadowed.

Head Trash Clearance brings a stadium-grade floodlight.

The whole cave lights up. Every crevice, every hidden corner, every old emotional relic suddenly visible. The shapes that loomed in the dark turn out to be ordinary rocks. The strange echoes make sense. What looked like danger is just uneven ground and badly stored memories.

You can't clear what you can't see.

That's why HTC works where other methods plateau — not because the others are wrong, but because they're working in the dark on a small section of a much bigger cave.

How it works

How it actually works.

Head Trash Clearance works on a principle we call the law of opposites.

Every emotional pattern is held in place by a polarity — two opposing forces locked in tension. Love and hate. Wanting and dreading. Drawing toward and pushing away. As long as both poles are charged, the pattern stays alive.

Clearance works the polarity. It moves through both sides of the charge — systematically, gently, in sequence — until the tension drains and the pattern releases.

This is why HTC works fast where talking doesn't. Talking analyses one side. Clearance works both sides at once, until the polarity collapses and the charge has nowhere to live.

You don't need to relive the experience. You don't need to figure out where it came from. You don't need to feel ready in any particular way. You just need to follow the structure.

The structure

Two halves of the same clearance.

Every HTC clearance has two halves working together:

The cognitive element

Mantras that hold the polarity.

A structured sequence of guided mantras that hold the polarity in place — naming both sides of the emotional charge so the system can release the tension between them.

The physical element

Acupressure that settles the system.

A gentle acupressure technique applied at specific points during the clearance — settling the nervous system as the cognitive work releases the charge.

Both elements are necessary. The mantras without the physical work feel intellectual. The physical work without the mantras stops at calming. Together, they clear.

The full structure — what to say, where to touch, in what sequence — is what you learn when you start using the method.

The six dimensions

Head trash lives in six dimensions.

Head trash doesn't sit neatly in one corner of your mind like a box labelled Miscellaneous Emotional Stuff. It spreads. It threads itself through your thoughts, your reactions, your relationships, your body, your behaviour.

It exists in six different dimensions — six ways your system experiences, absorbs, recreates, and projects emotional charge:

  1. The idea of a thing
  2. You experiencing it
  3. Other people experiencing it
  4. You inflicting it on others
  5. You experiencing it because of life or other people
  6. You doing it to yourself
The six dimensions of head trash: 1 the idea of a thing, 2 you experiencing it, 3 other people experiencing it, 4 you inflicting it on others, 5 you experiencing it because of life or other people, 6 you doing it to yourself.

Some people carry most of their charge in the concept — the idea of failure, the idea of rejection, the idea of responsibility. Others carry it in the experience itself, or in watching someone else go through it. Others carry it when the world does it to them. Others carry it in the guilt or shame of doing it to someone else.

And the last dimension — doing it to yourself — is the one people rarely notice until it knocks them sideways.

Clearing works because it rinses through all six dimensions. Not just the obvious one. Not just the convenient one. All of them. That's why it's powerful. That's why it's fast. That's why it works where talking alone plateaus.

The full method — what to say, when, and in what sequence — is laid out in Clear Your Anxiety For Good. Find the book →

Why six dimensions cover everything.

If you look at life through this lens, you'll see there are only six possible ways to experience anything:

  1. You think about it
  2. You experience it yourself
  3. You witness it happening to others
  4. You feel it because of the world, people, or circumstances
  5. You cause it in others
  6. You do it to yourself

That's the full set. Every emotional permutation the human system can generate fits into one of these six.

This is why Head Trash Clearance works so deeply and so fast: it leaves no angle uncleared, no pattern half-lodged, no charge hiding in a back cupboard.

The 12 core mantras

Six dimensions × two polarities.

6 dimensions × love + hate = 12 core mantras

That's it. That's the whole structure.

You're using the two most polarising emotional forces — love and hate — to wring the charge out across every dimension it could be hiding in. You don't need to memorise specific mantras. Once you know the structure, you can build them anywhere: on the bus, at your desk, in the loo after a stressful meeting, lying in bed at 2 a.m.

It's simple. It's embodied. It's intuitive.

A note on the books.

In Clear Your Head Trash — the original book — Alexia introduced five dimensions of head trash. In her most recent book, Clear Your Anxiety For Good, she added the sixth: doing it to yourself. The most potent dimension, and now central to how the method is taught.

If you want the foundational text, Clear Your Head Trash is where the method was first laid out. If you want the most up-to-date thinking — and the full six-dimension model — Clear Your Anxiety For Good is the current authority.

What it's good for

What Head Trash Clearance is good for.

HTC is versatile and effective across a wide range of emotional and mental challenges:

  • Specific fears — flying, needles, public speaking, exams, confrontation
  • General anxiety — the kind that doesn't have one obvious cause
  • Procrastination and mental blocks — the things you keep not starting
  • Self-doubt and self-sabotage — the inner critic, the imposter, the under-earner
  • Patterns of reactivity — over-thinking, defensiveness, conflict avoidance
  • Surface emotional wounds — abandonment, rejection, betrayal at the manageable end
  • Trauma-related symptoms that haven't responded to other approaches

If you've been "talking it out" without real shifts — or if your healing has hit a wall — HTC offers an alternative that works at the layer underneath.

When clearing isn't the whole job

When HTC isn't enough on its own.

For most surface charge, HTC is the whole job. For most patterns, it's the whole job. For most fears, it's the whole job.

But some emotional patterns aren't just surface compensation. They're powered by deeper wounds — early imprints, attachment ruptures, identity-level survival decisions wired into the system before you had words.

When patterns keep regenerating despite consistent clearance, that's the signal that there's structural work underneath.

That's where Absolute Healing comes in — the second operation of the Head Trash method, designed to address the wounds that power the charge rather than the charge itself.

The good news: most people don't need to start with Absolute Healing. Start with Clearance. Notice what shifts. If patterns keep returning, you'll know.
